Feb 08, 12:00 PM
Thursday 8th February 1940
In the United States, “Harry Sawyer” (real name William Sebold) arrives in New York to lead a German spy network in the USA. His special equipment includes “microdots”. The Germans do not know that Sebold (codemane Tramp) is already a double agent, working for the FBI.
In Paris, Police raid the Soviet Press Agency and discover that it is being used as a front for pro-German propaganda.
Two French soldiers capture a German patrol in Forbach Woods. One of the soldiers, Joseph Darnand, will later be in charge of the Vichy French secret police — the Milice. He will also be made an honorary Sturmbannfuhrer in the Waffen SS.
