Finnish fighters foil an attempted Soviet raid on Helsinki but the Red Army reaches the southern suburbs of Viipuri.
The French authorities make formal request to Sweden and Norway to allow 50,000 French “volunteers” (and 150 aircraft) to be sent to Finland through the Scandinavian countries. The British follow with an identical request for 100,000 men.
A high-flying RAF PR Spitfire photographs the entire Ruhr industrial region in one sortie while French Army intelligence uncovers the German preparations for an attack in Scandinavia.
