The Normandy invasion of June 6th 1944 was a success because of all the service personnel who worked as a massive team. Above the beaches the sky was alive with danger as the crews of Allied transports ran the gauntlet to deliver the fighting men to their objectives — like the men aboard the C47s and Horsa gliders seen here.
