Thursday 6th June 1940

After a hard-fought battle, between Amiens and the coast the French defensive line is broken by the attacks of 15th Panzer Corps. Rommel’s 7th Panzer Division makes the largest gains.

Between Amiens and Peronne, Generaloberst Ewald von Kleist’s Panzer Group is still being held, but further inland Guderian’s armoured divisions are seizing bridgeheads over the Aisne in preliminary attacks.
